HMS Watford It will be obvious to all and sundry. notwithstanding viewers of Brass Eye, that HMS Watford as a ship of the line has never actually existed. So for the amusement of friends, colleagues and bystanders alike welcome to a potted history of HMS Watford, a particularly unlucky ship which through much fault of its crew was engaged in many of the great sea battles of our age, although with not much success. The intention is to amuse not offend, so if by accident I mention certain events or what I believe to be fictitious persons names out of context then I apologise unreservedly. In order to give some credence to the history I have extracted certain events from three ships, HMAS Canberra, HMS Yarmouth and HMS Lancaster.
